Foster Carer Recruitment
We want to make it easier for people in RCT to become foster carers so that more children can grow up in safe, stable, local family homes.
What this project is about
We want to hear from people who:
have never thought about fostering
don’t know much about fostering
have thought about fostering but never taken the next step or made an enquiry
aren’t sure if fostering is for them
Your views will help us understand what stops people from fostering and what might encourage more people to take the first step.
To do this, we will gather different types of evidence to understand:
Why people don’t foster
What is causing the national shortage of foster carers
What could motivate more people to consider fostering
How RCT’s current recruitment approach could be improved to attract and keep more foster carers
Our aim is to use this information to shape better, more effective recruitment strategies.

Join our focus group
We are running an in-person focus group on Friday 13th March 9:30 am – 10:30am at YMa Pontypridd. We are looking for people who have never considered fostering, have decided not to foster, and/or those who aren’t aware of what fostering is.
By attending the workshop, you will be entitled to receive a £20 Amazon or Love2shop voucher, or Tempo Time Credits.
