The award celebrates organisations that are clear, open and easy to engage with online. Make a Change RCT, the website of the RCT Health Determinants Research Collaboration (HDRC) powered by Granicus, was recognised for helping residents and organisations understand what the HDRC does and enabling them to get involved.
People can take part in different ways, from sharing their views and lived experiences through polls and surveys, to becoming equal voting members on recruitment panels and helping shape projects.
The website was designed with help from residents and local organisations which shaped how the site looks, how it works and how information is written. From the start, the focus was on making the website easy to use, with clear language and built‑in accessibility tools to support different needs.
This means:
Residents can see what’s happening and have their say
The Council can listen to real experiences to help make better decisions
Local organisations and partners can stay informed and involved
Ceri Parsons, Data Impact & Implementation Co‑ordinator, said:
“Make a Change RCT is about making it easier for people to take part and stay informed. This award shows the importance of listening to residents and working with local organisations to create something that works for everyone.”
Make a Change RCT will continue to support open, inclusive and transparent ways for people to help decision-making in Rhondda Cynon Taf.
