Making Use Of Evaluation Tools
These sessions are designed to develop skills in each type of evidence in the Evidence Pie.
By attending this session, you will be developing skills in:

Understand, strengthen, and demonstrate the impact of your work by using evaluation tools.
The course supports you to step back from day-to-day delivery and understand how to evaluate the impact of service delivery and interventions. You will learn how to define problems more precisely, design interventions involving different stakeholders, and plan evaluations that are meaningful and useful.
Whether you’re trying to demonstrate the value of an existing service, plan a new intervention, apply for funding, or simply make better-informed decisions, this course will help you build confidence in evaluation.
The day blends short inputs with practical exercises, real-world examples, and structured time to work on your own service or project, so you leave with ideas you can apply straight away!
Learn How to:
- Explain what evaluation is, why it matters and demonstrate the impact of services and interventions.
- Define problems and intended outcomes more clearly.
- Using the evidence pie describe how different types of evidence can be used together.
- Develop a change model to explain how an intervention is expected to create change.
- Plan a proportionate, practical evaluation, using meaningful, feasible and useful for decision-making.
