Want to improve how you use evidence in your decision-making?

Build confidence in using evidence to ask better questions, challenge assumptions, and make informed decisions in this beginner-friendly course developed by the What Works Centre for Local Economic Growth and delivered in-house by RCT HDRC.

This training will help you build core skills in evidence use, move beyond intuition and guesswork, and enable you to approach questions and problems with clarity and confidence. By combining practical tools with a structured approach to evidence, you’ll be better prepared to make decisions that stand up to scrutiny and deliver real value for your service area.


Learn how to:


  • Ask better, evidence-driven questions
  • Identify what kind of evidence is needed
  • Understand and apply the “Evidence Pie”
  • Recognise assumptions and biases
  • Assess the quality and relevance of evidence
  • Make more informed, confident decisions

About the session
This is an online session held on Microsoft Teams. You can join using the link provided - you don’t need a Teams account.

What to expect
The session will last around 2 hours. You’ll be able to listen, take part, and ask questions.
