We’re excited to announce that our Community Voice Team (CVT) has officially started! This team is made up of six local residents who will work part time (six hours a week) alongside the RCT Health Determinants Research Collaboration (RCT HDRC), local communities, and partner organisations. Their job is to make sure real life experiences and community voices shape everything we do.

What the CVT will do

  • Give feedback on new project ideas and make sure they meet community needs.

  • Build strong links with local organisations and residents.

  • Collect and share stories and experiences from the community.

  • Take part in training and help improve how we work.

  • Keep people informed about HDRC projects and opportunities

Starting this week

The team is now going through induction, learning about the wider determinants of health, how HDRC projects work, and the tools they’ll use. The CVT is supported by our Public & Community Engagement Officer, Shannon Lee, the wider HDRC central team and key partners within RCTCBC.

Why this matters

Listening to local voices helps the Council make better decisions and tackle health inequalities. The CVT will make sure communities are involved in shaping our work from start to finish.
