The preventative spend project will look into three different service areas. The first of these that we are looking at is the services in RCT which aim to prevent infants from entering care.

The HDRC team have identified research questions which will be answered using existing evidence and used to create:

• A report on how Council services aim to keep infants from going into care and what outcomes these services could result in.
• Insights to develop a framework for exploring preventative investment in other service areas.

To ensure the team are looking in the right areas, we have a lived experience advisor as a member of the working group.
