Support the recruitment of our new ‘Community Voice Team’
What is it?
It’s an opportunity to work with the HDRC, Interlink RCT and the RCT Together Community Development Team to support with the recruitment of our new Community Voice Team (CVT). The CVT will be a team of 6 individuals working with the HDRC to ensure community voices are heard across the Council.
We are looking for individuals to help us with this recruitment process by joining our working group.
Number of Lived Experience Advisors required:
2 Lived Experience Advisors are required
What will I be asked to do?
· Join a small working group and attend online working group meetings throughout August.
· Offer thoughts and opinions on the recruitment materials (including job descriptions, adverts, application forms etc.)
· Help us to plan how to recruit the CVT in an accessible and inclusive way
· Help to create the interview questions for the CVT members
· Sit on the interview panel and work with the rest of the team to identify the most suitable candidates for the roles
The Public and Community Engagement Officer will be available to assist and support you to undertake this opportunity.
What experience do I need?
· Experience of inclusive and accessible recruitment processes (as a candidate or as an employer) OR
· Experience of applying for a job OR
· Experience of conducting interviews or partaking in an interview
How long am I expected to be involved for?
· You must be able to attend 4 x 1-hour online meetings outlined below:

You must be able to attend 2 days in-person interviews at the end of September (dates for interviews to be agreed with the Lived Experience Advisors when in role)

· You will have the opportunity to influence how we recruit for the CVT and who is selected for the roles.
· You can develop interview skills through your direct involvement in planning and delivering the interviews
· Your involvement will ensure the recruitment process and materials are understood by members of the community (not full of Council jargon!)
· You will be part of a multi-agency interview panel and ensure fair and representative recruitment
What support will you offer me?
· Direct support is available from the HDRC Team in understanding your role and answering any questions.
· Training can be provided to support you in this role.
· Practical support to attend meetings is available (including transport to/from meetings)
