Our goals are to create a culture that allows Rhondda Cynon Taf Council to be more research active and use evidence to make decisions. By doing this, the Council could break the cycle of poverty by addressing the wider determinants of health, reduce health inequalities and improve the life chances of our residents.

We have committed to work with the public to better understand what matters to you, so if you live, work, play or study in RCT, you can help make a change by becoming involved.

What the RCT Health Determinants Research Collaboration Will Do

We are trying to understand what matters to RCT communities. We will work with Council staff to look at different types of information, like expert opinions, people's experiences, data and statistics, impact measurements, and academic research and present these in a way that supports the Council to use this evidence to make decisions about the services it provides.

How we will do this

We will gather this data to help us understand the priorities within the community. Your priorities will be discussed and will help us shape on what areas to focus on next. You can see what we are currently focussing on in our projects section.

How you can be involved

Your experiences are valuable to us and you can get involved in a variety of ways, which is explained here. However, it can be as simple as answering a poll or a survey. Please take a minute to answer our poll on this page, or if you have a few minutes spare we would be grateful if you answer our survey at the bottom of this page.

Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council also has a website called Let's Talk RCT (external link) where residents can share their opinion on things on local issues, such as new projects, the Corporate Plan, budget and more!

How we use your personal data

We explain this in our Privacy Policy.
