Support the recruitment of our new Communications Officer

What is it?

It’s an opportunity to sit on the interview panel for our new Communications Officer role within the HDRC. We are looking for a Lived Experience Advisor to join the panel and support in asking questions, assessing the suitability of candidates, and have their voice heard in the decision-making process.

Number of Lived Experience Advisors required:

1 Lived Experience Advisor is required


What will I be asked to do?

  • Attend the interview day/days (more than one day will depend on the number of applications) as a member of the interview panel
  • Support in the asking of interview questions to the candidates

  • Record feedback on each candidate and their responses using the Council’s interview template

  • Work with the rest of the panel to identify the most suitable candidate for the role

The Public and Community Engagement Officer will be available to assist and support you to undertake this opportunity.

What experience do I need?

Knowledge of how a Communications Officer can help a project (e.g by sharing clear messages, helping more people understand the work, and making sure everyone feels included)

AND

  • Experience of inclusive and accessible recruitment processes (as a candidate or as an employer) OR
  • Experience of applying for a job OR

  • Experience of conducting interviews or partaking in an interview

How long am I expected to be involved for?

You must be able to attend the 3 interview days listed below.

You will be required to attend a maximum of two days if we receive fewer applications.
