RCT HDRC Collaborating Partners

The RCT HDRC is made up of RCT Council and our collaborating partners who work together to improve the way in which we all gather and use evidence to inform local decision making and the design of services.

Our collaborating partners that work alongside RCT Council include:

  • Interlink RCT.
  • Public Health Wales (PHW).
  • Cwm Taf Morgannwg (CTM) University Health Board.
  • Cardiff University.

Interlink RCT (external link)

Interlink RCT is a members-led charity working with over 550 members from small community groups to large charities. Interlinks purpose is to work with people, communities, and voluntary organisations to make sure they get the support they need.

Their main areas of work are:

  • Community Advice and Support – providing information, advice training and funding.
  • Volunteering – supporting volunteers and volunteer organisations.
  • Health, Social Care and Wellbeing – supporting people and working together on early intervention and prevention to improve health, social care, and wellbeing.
  • Citizen, Community and Third Sector Voice – helping people, communities and third sector organisations to influence and take action on those things that matter to them.

Interlink RCT's role in RCT HDRC

Interlink RCT brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to support the work of RCT HDRC, in particular supporting our public participation, involvement and engagement developments. As the County Voluntary Council, Interlink RCT promotes and facilitates the HDRC’s interface with the large number of community based organisations across RCT and ensures that the voice of the voluntary sector and residents is reflected in the development and implementation of the HDRC.

Public Health Wales work to protect and improve the health and wellbeing and reduce health inequalities for the people of Wales. Public Health Wales is one of the 11 organisations that make up NHS Wales.

Public Health Wales's role in RCT HDRC

PHW is the national public health organisation for Wales, working to improve health and wellbeing across Wales. PHW is brings expertise in data analytics, evidence, evaluation and research of public health policy and practice and helps RCT HDRC to connect into networks of shared learning across Wales and the UK.

Cwm Taf Morgannwg (CTM) University Health Board (external link)

The Cwm Taf Morgannwg Public Health Team is based within Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board, and is comprised of:

  • Public Health Practitioners, Professional Managers, Consultants and Administration staff.
  • Data Analysts.
  • The Healthy Schools and Pre-Schools team.
  • The Help Me Quit smoking cessation service.

Working with statutory and third sector partners, the vision of the team is to protect and improve the health of the population of Cwm Taf Morgannwg. To achieve this, we use both data and behavioural insight to identify and address our population health issues, helping to reduce inequalities in health outcomes and increase healthy life expectancy.

The Cwm Taf Morgannwg Public Health Team work across Rhondda Cynon Taf, Merthyr Tydfil and Bridgend Local Authorities, covering a population of 450,000 people.

Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board's role in RCT HDRC

The Local Public Health Team, which sit within Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board, holds a diverse portfolio of work on health determinants and is collaborating with RCT HDRC to share learning and improve data sharing arrangements. CTM UHB can also help RCT HDRC to link in with wider regional research infrastructure, to support and coordinate research, innovation and improvement across health and social care.
